Words of Wisdom
"As an educator, I believe every student deserves guidance that’s both expert and kind. My role is to help them grow with confidence and achieve their goals wherever they are in the world."
About Ashleigh
Hello, I’m Ashleigh, a private tutor and educational consultant with over a decade of experience helping students across Europe and the UK achieve their academic goals.

I founded Tutor Connection in 2016 to support international families looking for high-quality, personalised education. Since then, I’ve taught hundreds of students from leading international and British schools across Europe and USA, helping them gain top grades in IGCSE, IB, and A-Level, and secure places at some of world’s most respected boarding schools and universities.

Alongside my private work, I’m also Head of English at Edviro Academy, where I teach and design large-scale online programmes for students aged 14–16. My lessons combine expert academic guidance with a friendly, encouraging atmosphere. I believe learning should be structured, but never stressful.

I’ve worked in education for more than ten years, between London and Milan, and I know how different every student can be. Some need help building confidence; others need to refine their technique to reach the top grades. My job is to understand what motivates each student, tailor every lesson to their goals, and help them feel proud of their progress.

Services
IGCSE & IB English
I help students become confident, expressive writers and critical thinkers. In IGCSE and IB English, we explore how to analyse texts, build strong essay arguments, and write with clarity and confidence. Whether it’s Macbeth, The Great Gatsby, or unseen poetry, lessons are focused, interactive, and designed to make challenging ideas feel approachable.
History (IGCSE, IB, A-Level)
History isn’t just about remembering facts; it’s about understanding stories, perspectives, and causes. My history lessons help students master content while also learning how to write sharp, persuasive essays. Together, we practise structuring arguments, analysing sources, and developing the high-level thinking skills that examiners reward.
Entrance Exams & 11+
I specialise in preparing students for UK and international school entrance exams such as the 11+, UKISET, and ISEB Pre-Test. We work on comprehension, reasoning, creative writing, and interview confidence. My approach helps students perform at their best under pressure, while staying calm and self-assured on exam day.
University & Boarding School Admissions Coaching
For families preparing for boarding school or university applications, I offer full admissions coaching: from personal statements and SAT prep to interview preparation. I work closely with each student to bring out their individuality and help them present themselves confidently and authentically. Each year, my students receive offers from their first-choice schools and universities.
My Approach
Clarity
Every student learns differently, and that’s what makes teaching so rewarding. I create a calm, focused learning environment where students can ask questions freely and learn how to think independently.
Structure
Lessons are completely personalised. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s pace, goals, and personality, whether that means breaking down tricky essay questions, revising literary techniques, or practising mock exams.
Confidence-building
Parents often tell me that their children leave lessons feeling more motivated, more organised, and genuinely proud of what they’ve achieved, and for me, that’s the best result of all.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where are lessons held?
All lessons take place online via Zoom, using interactive notes, whiteboards, and shared documents. This makes learning flexible and effective, wherever you are in the world.
What ages do you work with?
I work with students aged 11–19, specialising in preparation for entrance exams, IGCSE/GCSE, IB, and A-Level studies.
Which exam boards do you teach?
I teach across all major exam boards: Cambridge (CAIE), AQA, Edexcel, and IB, so lessons always align with your child’s school syllabus.
Do you teach groups or only one-to-one?
Most of my lessons are one-to-one, but I also run small online groups for GCSE English and Literature. These are kept deliberately small to ensure each student still receives personal attention.
Do you offer progress updates?
Yes. Parents receive regular feedback and progress reports so you can see exactly how your child is improving and what we’re focusing on next.
Can you support students with learning differences like dyslexia?
Yes, absolutely. I have extensive experience working with students who need extra structure or reading and writing support. Lessons are adapted to suit each learner’s strengths and pace.
How successful are your students?
My students consistently improve by two grade levels or more, and all have passed their exams or achieved entry to their target schools and universities. More importantly, they gain confidence in their abilities and start to enjoy learning again.
How do we get started?
Simply get in touch via the contact form to arrange a consultation. We’ll talk about your goals, your child’s needs, and the best plan to help them succeed.
